That's a lotta waldens.

I started reading "Walden Two" by B.F. Skinner on the plane on my way home for spring break. I'd been meaning to give it a look for months and ordered it from paperbackswap.com at the end of December.

It's pretty interesting so far, roughly 1/3 of the way through. One of my professors had claimed that it was extremely boring, so either he has a higher threshold for entertainment than I do or some disappointment will come my way as I carry on with the read.

I'm mostly intrigued by Skinner's writing from the perspective of someone who questions his views. It gives me a reason to respect him, which I didn't really before given all of the pigeons pecking buttons and such. He just struck me as, for lack of a better term, full of shit (in addition to being covered with bird guano from his classical conditioning experiments).

Maybe once I get farther into the characters' explanation of their society the BS will be revealed, but as it stands, it sounds like Skinner wants me to disagree with him... which is nice.
